This World

I've been here a while. But I don't think experience has much to do with how long you've been around. It's more to do with how you spend that time. I spent a lot of it doing what I call 'nothing'. Meaning I'll just sit there with a blank mind. Later I'd come to realize that this form of doing is something called 'meditation'. Cool. I do a lot of it. Lying down, sitting upright, sitting upwrong, walking, whatever. I'm sure other people find ways of blanking their minds too. Cigarettes, alcohol, surfing, also whatever.

Anyway none of that matters. What does matter is the result. I am starting to thoroughly believe that there is happiness in the hearts of everyone. Every single human on this planet has some kind of happiness in their soul. Most haven't found it yet. I just watched a movie called 'The Book of Eli". Very violent, Mad Max future biblical story with my recommendation. It adds to my understanding that the forces of order are just as good / bad, safe / unsafe, righteous / evil as the forces of chaos. Take the movie for instance. In that world it seemed there was a dire need of balance. That's why so many bad people died and very few good people died. The "good" guy was killing all the "bad" guys. I have no problem either way because in this world that we live in now, there is a good balance. People die. I will too. But I will not kill. Or I will do my best not to.

This might take a bit of explaining. There are forces in this universe. What is a force? I think of a force as a kind of a 'something' that 'pushes' or 'pulls' 'something' of some kind. Humans (us) have gathered and categorized all or most of these forces and put them into a nice and tidy group. It goes something like this:

In this universe there is a particular but pure axiom that holds true within my mind. These are a triangle of force that makes movement in my minds and my actions. Those prime forces are chaos, order and balance.

First, chaos, meaning unpredictability or being in a state of confusion actually derived from an old Greek word having the same meaning as 'cosmos' referring to the the original state of this universe. Darkness, space or an abyss.

Order is a moral force of which law seeks authority to exist. Maintenance of conformity and obedience allow authority and law to control. The world we live in now (2010) seems to be close to becoming a world wide state of order.

Balance, an Anglo-French word vaguely meaning two scales which was later attached to the meaning of equilibrium or neutrality. The person who follows or fights on a particular side will rarely understand the mind of one who seeks equanimity with the universe.

Chaos and order each embrace three governing forces and intertwine to create the governing principles of balance. Under the trunk of chaos lay tolerance, enthusiasm and emotion; under order you will find ethicality, discipline and logic.

The forces of Chaos.
・ Tolerance is that which encourages the acceptance of all things.
・ Enthusiasm is the energy that allows one to perform great tasks.
・ Emotion is the ability to perceive those feelings that come from the heart, as opposed to those from the mind.

The forces of Order.
・ Ethicality is the belief that there is great value in abiding by rules of conduct.
・ Discipline is the drive to complete a task and avoid the distractions that will prevent its completion.
・ Logic permits clear, reasoned thought, free from any instinctual biases.

From the marriage between two Forces, one each from Chaos and Order, come the Principles of Balance.
・ Tolerance and ethicality combine to form Harmony, the ability to be at peace with oneself, other individuals and the world.
・ From the union of Enthusiasm and Discipline springs Dedication, that which permits one to surmount obstacles and lead others.
・ Emotion tempered by Logic results in Rationality, the ability to comprehend life and understand the world around us.

From what I have experienced within my life so far, I believe that all three of these forces need to coexist for any each one to exist. If it were up to me, I would leave the seemingly invisible force of balance to take care of the forces of chaos and order. From the description it seems the surviving forces of chaos to be the oldest. Order came about to eradicate chaos and balance came to even things out. There seems only three dimensions in this universe. Like human eyes are only capable of seeing only three colors. But that doesn't stop our minds to see beyond our limits :)

Enjoy.

P.S. I thoroughly recommend the game of Serpent Isle, where most of this crap came from :)
